Verdict of No Cause – Failure to Diagnose Meningitis

Defense verdict after trial in case of alleged failure to diagnose bacterial meningitis in young girl allegedly resulting in brain damage. We persuaded a jury that regardless of the alleged failure to diagnose, the meningitis was viral in origin and no additional treatment was needed thereby establishing a lack of causation between the physician’s treatment and the outcome.
