Verdict of No Cause for Emergency Room Physicians

NVN represented several emergency room physicians in a case where the plaintiff alleged his acute asthma attacks were improperly treated. The plaintiff alleged that he was prescribed steroids over a course of several months and that improper amounts of steroids caused avascular necrosis (a condition that resulted in a hip replacement). Our attorney proved to the jury that the plaintiff's condition was a life threatening emergency situation and that the use of steroids was a reasonable emergency room practice for treating acute asthma.
